Diem T. Nguyen was PhD Student at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Her work focused on foliar fungal pathogens and fungal communities (endophytes). While fungi are important drivers of ecosystem dynamics, fungal pathogens can negatively affect forest stability and productivity. Her study aimed to determine the effects of tree species along a diversity gradient on foliar fungal pathogens and the spatial distribution of the fungal community of Norway spruce needles.
